I think I must have been a rabbit in a past life.
I agree with Hugh – task hopping is a time burner! But I'm trying hard to stay on task. My personal #1 Productivity Tip is to set my email to send/receive on demand only. This way I don't have tempting email trickling into my email box, distracting me with pop-up screens while I try to focus on a particular task.
I also set a ‘rule' for my subscription newsletters to funnel directly to a ‘read' email in-box category. It makes it easier to indulge in mind-candy by browsing through my ‘read' email when I have waiting time between parental chauffeur duties, coffee breaks, etc.
I use Notepad as a clever little desk-top tool that I can copy and paste reminders, to-do's, half-finished writing tasks that need to be done before the end of day. Maybe I should look up Evernote to see how this works . . . .
What is your #1 Productivity Tip?.
Send me a comment by email and we'll compile the list and add to a future article.
